DISCLAIMER: SPOILER ALERT

The Mandalorian is a Star Wars show you may have heard of from social media or your friends. The Mandalorian shows characters have become a center of pop culture especially “The child” (most people know him as Baby Yoda but unfortunately that's not what Disney calls him/her/it). The Mandolorian is also a very well-rated show (98%) on Rotten tomatoes. Critics say that the show has a very good story and plot because it ties in well with the Star Wars Saga. What happened in Season 1, and what’s expected in Season 2? How much did the movie cost to make, and produce?

Review of Season 1

The Mandalorian season 1 was very interesting and action-packed. Many scenes made me beg for more. When the child lifted a Mudhorn (A large furry rhinoceros-like animal) using the force it made me laugh and showed me that he has a big role in the relationship between the Mando and him, which I liked. This was a really good touch because without this the show would have been a lot less captivating and more boring. Another good touch in the show was how they explained the Mandalorian culture and continued off where the original Star Wars trilogy left off. It explained well that even after the defeat of the empire, there was still a lot of corruption due to there not being any real government in the galaxy. I liked how the story had a cliffhanger at the end which brought my attention because then I started thinking about whether there will be a season 2 and what will happen there. Overall the story was well directed and well written. I highly recommend watching season 1, because it set the main base plot for season 2.

Reaction to Season 2

Season 2 is just as captivating as the first season if not more, it receives a similar rating as the first as well. The second season also really ties in well with the Star Wars Saga and we can know for sure that the story takes place after the original trilogy but before the sequels and we can know it happens soon after the defeat of the empire. Many well-known star wars characters will appear in the new season which we will not speak of due to the fact that we don’t want to spoil the season for you. I highly recommend watching the second season after you watched the first as it is very interesting with a strong storyline and some intense and action-packed scenes. Overall I loved season 2, after reading articles about it and what it is really like, since we do know from season 1 that The Mandalorian is trying to bring The Child to its rightful home or where it should belong in society.

Production

You might be thinking that the show used a lot of green scenes and massive sets, but that wasn’t the case, they used StageCraft where you use a big LED(light-emitting diodes) screen that immerses the cast inside its surroundings. This allowed the show to look more realistic to the point where it becomes hard to believe that the scenes were made of green screens. The animatronic or the puppet that represented Baby Yoda itself took 5 million dollars to make and produce, while the 1st season cost around 100 million dollars to make. Pedro Pascal who was the one who played The Mandalorian got injured on set because he knocked into some plywood and got his nose scratched. In one of the scenes of the show, the Mandalorian removes his helmet which was scripted, but during this scene, his nose was scratched a few minutes ago. This shows how dedicated Pascal was to this show, and what he can do for it.

The Mandalorian is a great show to watch, especially for all the Star Wars lovers including the ones who think Baby Yoda is really cute. The show includes action, adventure, thrills, and humor. Even though Season 2 was postponed by 1-2 months, I’m sure that it was worth waiting to see how the new season will turn out. I can bet that you will love the relationship between The Child and The Mando as it’s portrayed throughout two seasons. While it did use a different technique in the way they filmed the show, it was still able to connect to the audience in a way that would influence you to watch the show again and again. I highly appreciate the writers and crew of the film for working hard and risking their lives to produce a new season during a pandemic.

    1. If we redo, and if we get a worse grade than a A-, will that worse grade count or the best grade? Can we even redo, in the first place if we want a higher grade?
